Welcome to master.lk. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website https://master.lk (“Site”) and the online courses, materials and services we provide (together, the “Services”), operated by master.lk (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, purchasing a course, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must create an account to purchase or enrol in a course; we do not offer guest checkout.
  • If you are under 18 years old, you may use the Site and enrol in courses only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who must make the purchase on your behalf.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating your account and at checkout.
  • You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, transferred, sold, or used by more than one person.
  • Please notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

2. Courses and content

  • Course descriptions, previews, curricula and instructor details are provided for your information. We do our best to keep them accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that a course will remain unchanged, or that specific outcomes or results will be achieved from taking a course.
  • We may update, improve, or occasionally discontinue a course or specific lessons; where reasonably possible we will give enrolled students notice of material changes.
  • Access to a purchased course is provided for as long as your account remains open (see our Privacy Policy for details on data retention).

3. Payment

  • Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and may change at any time; the price you pay is the price shown at the time you complete your purchase.
  • Payments are processed securely through PayHere (Pvt) Ltd, a licensed third-party payment gateway supporting debit/credit cards, mobile wallets and online banking, or by direct bank transfer to our nominated account. We do not collect or store your full card details.
  • An order is only confirmed, and course access only granted, once payment has been received and verified.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at our discretion, including where we suspect fraud, an error in pricing, or a breach of these Terms.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

4. Licence to use course content

  • When you purchase a course, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to stream and view the course recordings and materials for your own individual learning, for as long as your account remains open and in good standing.
  • You may not download (except where we expressly provide a download feature), copy, reproduce, record, screen-record, distribute, publicly display, resell, sub-license, or share your login, course recordings or materials with any other person, or upload them to any other website, app or platform.
  • All course content — including videos, text, graphics, logos, quizzes and assignments — is owned by master.lk or our instructors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of that content to you.
  • If you breach this section, we may suspend or terminate your account and access to courses without a refund.

5. Certificates

Certificates are issued on successful completion of a course’s requirements, where applicable. Certificates confirm completion of a master.lk course only and are not a nationally or professionally accredited qualification unless expressly stated on the certificate.

6. User content, reviews and conduct

  • You may be able to submit reviews, ratings, comments, questions, and assignment files. By submitting content, you confirm it is your own work, is not unlawful, offensive, or infringing, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and reproduce it in connection with operating and promoting the Site.
  • You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; harass, abuse, or impersonate others; upload viruses or harmful code; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems; scrape or copy course content or the Site for a competing purpose; or otherwise interfere with the proper working of the Site.
  • We may remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that breach this section.

7. Instructors

If you register as an instructor, you agree to provide accurate biography, qualification and course material information, to confirm that you own or have the right to use all material you upload, and to comply with any separate instructor agreement and payment terms we provide to you.

8. Affiliates

If you join our affiliate programme, your participation is also governed by the specific affiliate terms and commission structure we provide to you at sign-up. We may suspend or terminate affiliate accounts found to be generating referrals through fraudulent, spam, or otherwise prohibited means, and may withhold commissions earned through such means.

9. Intellectual property

Other than user content you submit, all content on the Site — including the master.lk name and logo, design, text, graphics and software — is our property or that of our licensors and may not be used without our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

  • The Site and courses are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, master.lk, its owners, employees and instructors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site or courses, including loss of data, income, or opportunity.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under Sri Lankan law.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Site or any course, without refund, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Site, or engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity. You may close your account at any time by contacting us; please see our Privacy Policy for the effect this has on your access to purchased courses and certificates.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If we make a significant change we will tell you by email or a notice on the Site.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
